"Cercetați toate lucrurile, si păstrați ce este bun!"

Apostolul Pavel

Originally from California, I have been living in Romania for thirteen years and have seen firsthand the need to transform Romanian adoption and abandonment laws. After seeing the needs of the children, from volunteering in the orphanage, children’s hospital, and local Roma villages, we founded a non-profit organization called Firm Foundations Romania, which is dedicated to transforming the lives of disadvantaged children and families by providing physical and educational guidance along with sharing the Gospel and God’s love. In addition to running FFR, I’ve had the privilege to write for this newspaper for over a year now, connect with the Romanian diaspora in various parts of America, and attend the Balkan Prayer event located at the Romanian Parliament. Romania is very much a part of my life.

There is still so much that needs to be accomplished regarding the situation with the abandonment of Romanian children and the ones trapped in institutions until they are eighteen years old. I am asking that the Romanian diaspora join me in prayer and efforts to help stand in the gap for children who have no voice and no family. Please contact me if you are interested in joining a team to help plead the government for more social service programs, which will help support mothers to keep their babies, rather than abandoning them due to desperation, and for the government to consider opening up international adoptions, at least for children over the age of five and for handicapped children who need special attention and care. Matthew 19:26 states: “With God All Things are possible.” I believe laws can change if we stand together in unity, faith, and prayer.

God Bless,

Sarah Vienna
